Widecombe is, of course, famous for Widecombe Fair, held annually and celebrated by a folksong of the same name, featuring "Old Uncle Tom Cobley and All."  Widecombe Fair takes place on the second Tuesday in September every year.

With St. Pancras Church, 'the cathedral of the Moor' standing proud in the landscape, Widecombe has history galore and many folklore legends.  Do take time to visit the church where there are some truly wonderful stained glass windows along with a letterbox stamp for those ardent letterboxing folk.

Visit the village produce market if you can which is held on the fourth Saturday of each month in the Church House next to the Church.  The National Trust owns this building along with Sexton's Cottage by the lychgate.

Widecombe is popular with tourists who can enjoy a stroll around the village with its gift shops, cafes and pubs.  Manor Cottage is just a stone's throw from the heart of the village and The Old Inn pub.

There is always plenty going on in the village
